Individuals with "Failure to Pay" Warrants May Avoid Jail Time under New Program

MARION, IN (October 26, 2016): In order to reduce the number "Failure to Pay" city warrants, the Marion Police Department in conjunction with the Marion City Probation Department and the Marion City Clerk's Office is starting a new program!

Individuals with "Failure to Pay" city warrant(s) may report to the Marion City Clerk's Office; located in the Municipal Building (301 South Branson Street), Second Floor, between the hours of 8:00 am to 3:00 pm (Monday thru Friday) and pay their fine(s) in full. Upon paying the fine(s) in full, paperwork will be completed and NO ARREST will be made.

THIS PROGRAM WILL:

• Reduce the number of active warrants on file with the Marion Police Department
• Allow individuals to pay and clear their "Failure to Pay" fine(s) and NOT be taken to jail
• Decrease the number of incarcerations at the Grant County Jail

An updated posting of applicable warrants will be posted every two weeks. You may view the list on the departments FACEBOOK page at "Marion Police Department"
