Job Opening: Full-time Laborer, Parks Department

Citywide Maintenance is seeking applicants for a full-time laborer position in the Parks Department.

Job responsibilities: Under general supervision, performs a wide variety of skilled and unskilled building, mechanical and grounds tasks to assist in the maintenance of city park properties and facilities; operates trucks and light equipment for construction, maintenance and repair of roads and city property.

Employee Spotlight: Rose Cadena

Rose Cadena is the Administrative Assistant for the City of Marion Parks & Recreation Department. She has been in her position for 10 years. In addition to undertaking multiple tasks in her job, she puts the "FUN" in all events at City Hall. Rose spearheads and organizes many parties and events for the City team. Her competitive nature is the drive behind Corporate Challenge and all activities connected with this event.

Marion Fireworks Show to be Held on Tuesday, the 4th of July

The City of Marion will continue a longstanding tradition of providing a fireworks show for the community. This year, the display is going to take place on Tuesday, July 4th.

Mayor Jess Alumbaugh explained, “We want to bring the celebration to the people directly on the day the whole country is celebrating its independence.”

Splash House Half Price while Wave Pool is Down

Admission will be HALF PRICE for everyone until the Wave Pool is back in operation.

Half price admission: adults $4; children $3; seniors 55+ $3.

The Wave Pool is planning to be back in operation sometime this week.

The Bowl Slide is down until further notice.

Concerts In the Gardens Lineup Announced

The live music lineup for the City of Marion Gardens of Matter Park 2017 Concert Series is attached. We are very excited about this year's lineup and hope you join us again! This is a free concert series located at the Gardens of Matter Park, 1 Matter Park Circle, Marion, IN 46952.

Still a Chance to Take Lifeguard Class & Apply for Open Positions

TIME SENSITIVE: There are still lifeguard positions open for seasonal work at the Splash House. To apply, you must take a lifeguard certification class. The final class offered at the YMCA is May 19th - 20th and the flyer with all details about the class is attached below.
