Tino Mitchener has been a Firefighter with the City of Marion Fire Department since November 4th, 2010. He is an Emergency Medical Technician, Scuba Diver, and a CPR Instructor through the American Heart Association.

Biscuits & Gravy Fundraiser for Fire Fighters:

Friends of Marion Professional Fire Fighters will hold the first event of the group since forming in 2016. Treat your family to breakfast with the Marion Professional Fire Fighters the Saturday before Father's Day, June 17, 2017. The firemen's favorite breakfast of biscuits and gravy will be served by Marion's fire fighters from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Marion Eagles, 933 South Washington Street.

All Marion Firefighters Receive New Gear through FEMA Grant

Thanks to the volunteer work of a retired firefighter, the Marion Fire Department was awarded a grant for nearly $144,000 in new safety gear for all firefighters.

State Farm Gives $700 to Marion Fire Department to Improve Arson Detection & Prevention Program

MARION, IN: (Aug. 5th, 2016) – Grant County State Farm agents teamed up this week to improve and sustain Marion Fire Department’s arson dog program. When the seven agents learned from Fire Prevention Officer Brandon Eckstein that the department had unfulfilled needs for the safety and well-being of “Jersey,” the arson detection canine that State Farm had funded exactly one year ago, they proudly stepped up to the plate.

Historic Marion Fire Truck Revived for Public Events & Fire Prevention Education

MARION, IN: (July 7th, 2016) – After more than a decade of sitting in a garage, a 1930 Marion Fire Truck in the Marion Fire Department’s possession has been revived, thanks to many hours of volunteer labor. City of Marion Mechanic, Kinnie Sollars, and his 13-year-old son, have been devoting time outside of work and school in order to restore the iconic piece of history.

Marion Firefighter Dale Owen to Retire after 29 Years

MARION, IN: (April 7th, 2016) – Firefighter Dale Owen will retire after 29 years of serving the Marion Fire Department. Private Owen joined the Department in 1987, and during his tenure, served as the Maintenance Officer and on the Hazmat Tech team.
